• Adnams suffers ‘long hard winter’

Adnams, the brewer and pub owner which includes six hotels in its estate, reported half-year operating profits down 10.4% at £826,000.

Turnover for the period fell by 1% to £23.1m. The group said that its hotels, all of which are in the provincial UK, had "felt the full impact of the long hard winter and spring".
