• Cheaper business travel rising, says IHG

Cheaper corporate travel is on the increase, according to research conducted by InterContinental Hotels Group, which forecast that 41% of its guests would take less costly business trips next year.

IHG said that almost three in five people who had been on a business trip over the past year had travelled in economy class, with the corporate sector booking its own travel, making loyalty more important than ever. Kirk Kinsell, IHG’s president for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: "Business and leisure guests have constant access to information, and are always looking for ways to get the most value out of their travel."
