• Chinese and Arabs boost London tourism

More tourists from France, China and the Middle East visited London in May, boosting retail sales.

Retail sales were 11.6% higher than a year ago on a like-for-like basis. Stephen Robertson British Retail Consortium director-general said in a press release: “The return of overseas visitors, after the previous month’s flight disruption, along with improving consumer confidence and sunnier weather, produced the strongest London sales growth since December.
