• US CEOs’ pay flat in 2009

The total compensation for US hotel industry CEOs in 2009 was almost identical to the previous year, coming in at nearly $2.8m (£1.8m), according to HVS Executive Search’s annual CEO survey.

Perks were hit by shareholder disapproval, dropping by 50%, however, bonuses were higher than forecast. Bob Iger at Disney and Bill Marriott had the largest base salaries at $2.1m and $1.2m, respectively.
