• Thomas Cook turnaround

Travel group Thomas Cook has posted its first profit since 2010, as it benefits from a three year turnaround plan. An ebit of GBP13m was a contrast with 2012 losses of GBP170m, reports Bloomberg.

Spanish hotels have been sold, and one fifth of the company’s travel shops have closed. The company aims to more than double hotels operating under the Thomas Cook brand to 800, and increase sales of city hotel rooms substantially.
