• B&Bs target AirBnb

Operators of the UK’s bed and breakfast sector are demanding the government regulate accommodation on rival website AirBnb. It has called the rooms sold via the site a “ticking time bomb” due to a lack of safety regulations and inspections, reports the London Times.

The B&B trade body has likened the site to illegal music file sharing sites, now closed down or legitimised. AirBnb insists most sellers on its site are private homeowners, and so meeting industry regulations would not be economically viable.
