The services sector grew at its fastest rate for a year in November, according to the latest Markit/CIPS composite purchasing managers’ index.
The services sector PMI recovered to 58.6 last month, from a 16-month low of 56.2 in October. Any mark above 50 indicates growth. Chris Williamson, chief economist, Markit, said: “Faster growth of services activity brings welcome news that fears of a potentially sharp slowdown in the economy look overplayed.”
