• Rocco revisits his old office

Travelodge opened its 13th hotel in London this month at the former head office of Forte in London's High Holborn.

Hosting the ceremony at the 184-room property was Sir Rocco Forte who was still in control of the brand last time he had an office at the location.

Sir Rocco, whose old office has now been turned into room 764, was still bearing a grudge against Granada's Sir Gerry Robinson who snatched the Forte company away from him in 1996 in a £3.3bn bid.

He said he had not talked to Sir Gerry since the takeover and would not do so even now, if he saw him.
