• BHA fears over VisitLondon

The British Hospitality Association has written to London Mayor Boris Johnson, and the business secretary, Vince Cable, over concerns to withdraw funding from VisitLondon.

"The result of the withdrawal of LDA’s £12m annual funding is that VisitLondon faces closure – just at the time when the 2012 Olympic Games are nearly upon us," said Ufi Ibrahim, BHA’s CEO. The organisation estimated that VisitLondon generated an additional £300m in tourism revenue at a total cost of £12m of public funding and £6m in private investment.
