• Boutiques outperform market

Boutique hotels have been more resilient in the downturn than all sectors other than the budget market, according to a report by HVS.

The study found that revpar in 2009 for central London’s boutique hotels was £135, compared with revpar of £105 for the city’s hotels overall. Interest in the sector from operators such as Marriott and Starwood was seen as proof that boutique hotels were here to stay.
