• China plans $1.3bn hotel

Beijing authorities are planning to build a hotel modelled on Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, in a $1.3bn joint project with Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi side of the venture is expected to pay the project costs, with the hotel to be erected in western Beijing’s Mentougou district, 30km from the city centre. The Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building, however there were no details available on the height of the China property.
