• Corporate rates rebounding, says Amex

Towards the end of the first half of 2010 rates in popular US destinations started to increase, according to American Express Business Travel.

International destinations including Amsterdam, Athens, Madrid, Rome, and Zurich also saw “notable” business traveller average rate paid increases across the second half of Q2. Christa Degnan Manning, director, eXpert insights research, Global Advisory Services, American Express Business Travel, said: “Buyers will need to educate themselves on local markets, benchmark rates with peers, and even weigh alternative options to find the most cost-effective options next year."
