• Hilton settles Starwood suit

Hilton Worldwide has agreed to "certain business restrictions" for two years as part of a settlement of a lawsuit concerning misappropriation of trade secrets from Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.

It is believed that the settlement bans Hilton from developing a hotel brand that would compete in the same category as its Denizen lifestyle concept until 2013. Additional terms of the settlement were confidential, but are thought to include a payment to Starwood and for Hilton to be supervised until January 2013 by two federally-appointed monitors.
