• Hotel insolvencies increase

The number of hotel and leisure insolvencies increased in September in the UK, to 113 from 105 in the previous month, according to Experian.

For the UK economy as a whole, the insolvency rate fluctuated month by month, but showed an overall improvement in insolvency rates since early 2009. September saw a slight annual decrease (from 0.09% to 0.08%), but was up from the 0.07% reported in August 2010.
