Hotels in London reported a 30.5% increase on the year in profitability in July as a result of the biennial Farnborough Air Show, according to the latest HotStats survey from TRI Hospitality Consulting.
The climb in Gross Operating Profit per Available Room was driven by 91.9% room occupancy and a 19.6% increase in achieved average room rate to £141.91. Revpar in the capital increased by 23.9% to £130.35. In the provinces revpar was up by 5.6%, with rate up 1.3% and occupancy climbing 3.1 percentage points.
