Hotels in London ended 2010 with revpar growth up by 11.9% on the year, with revpar in the provinces up 3.9%, according to STR Global.
The company is predicting a 2.2% rise in revpar for London for 2011, up 4.4% outside the capital. However, commenting on the forecasts, Deloitte said that it was "more optimistic on London and would expect the capital’s revpar to post a healthier growth than predicted". Marvin Rust, hospitality managing partner at Deloitte, said: "With future demand for hotel rooms in both London and the regions beginning to weaken, caution may well be the buzz word for next year. It is interesting to note however that the econometric models predict a strong start to 2011 before a slowdown in the second half of the year."
