• Premier Inn eyes leisure recovery

Premier Inn is reporting leisure business close to levels seen two or three years ago, Patrick Dempsey, Whitbread hotels and restaurants MD, told Business Week.

He added that, should the economy recover, the group would consider exceeding its current target of increasing its number of rooms in the UK by about 30% over the next four years. Premier Inn aims to increase occupancy from 76% to 80% in three years, through increased advertising spend, cutting leisure rates and renovating properties, Dempsey said.
