• Puma H1 profits increase

Puma Hotels, which owns the freeholds of 20 hotels trading under the Barcelo flag, reported net profit of £2.9m, up from £900,000 in 2009, for the six months to 30 June.

Turnover was flat at £14.9m. The Hotel Corporation, which owns 49.9% of Puma Hotels, reported a pre-tax loss of £8.85m for the six months to 30 June, against a pre-tax profit of £2.04m from the prior-year period.
