• Qatari bid for London trophies

The Times newspaper has reported that Qatar Investment Authority is understood to be bidding for two of London’s most famous hotels, the Savoy and the Grosvenor.

Qatar‘s property investment arm Qatari Diar is said to be in talks to buy a 33% stake in Savoy Hotel. The hotel is currently owned by Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal and HBoS. Qatar Holding, another arm of the empire, is believed to be among the final bidders for Grosvenor House.
