• Shearings to expand hotel portfolio

The Shearings Group plans to expand its hotel portfolio by up to 10 new properties over the next three years.

The company announced its plans following the acquisition of its 50th UK property, the Charlecote Pheasant Hotel in Stratford upon Avon. Vince Flower, Shearings Hotels managing director, said in news reports: "The last two years have seen a strong resurgence of the British holiday….we plan to further expand our hotel portfolio by adding up to 10 new properties over the next three years." Shearings’ spent £10m refurbishing its 49-strong UK portfolio last year, which helped lift the group’s income from hotels by 8%.
