• Superbowl spree for Newark Marriott

With the 2011 Superbowl out of the way, the Marriott Newark is planning a $164 million makeover ahead of that city hosting the 2014 event. Owner Host Hotels will add a new ballroom and improved food and beverage facilities to the 591 room hotel.

The hotel has also signed a new 40 year lease with freeholder the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, according to a report in the NJ.com.
