• UK hospitality insolvencies fall

The number of hotel and leisure companies in the UK becoming insolvent in 2010 fell by 11.6% to 1,428 in 2010, according to Experian.

According to the company’s latest Insolvency Index, the figure represented 1.68% of sector as a whole. These numbers reflected an overall improvement in the annual rate of business insolvencies, which fell for the first time in two years. Overall, 1.04% of UK businesses failed in 2010, compared with 1.25% in 2009.
