• UK hotel insolvencies remain high

The latest Insolvency Index from Experian has reported that there were 123 hotel and leisure insolvencies in May compared to 121 in May 2009.

The index showed a slight improvement on April 2010, which saw 129 hotels and leisure businesses go under. For the UK as a whole 1,491 businesses became insolvent in May compared with 2,023 a year ago. Month-on-month the insolvency rate in May was down 18%.
