• UK outbound at low in 2009

The UK outbound market fell to its lowest level since 2001 in terms of trips last year, according to Key Note.

However, the group predicted that gains made in the domestic travel and tourism market in 2009 were being maintained. In the first three months of 2010, there was a 3.8% increase in the number of trips made from 21 million to 21.8 million and a 0.7% increase from 55 million to 55.4 million in the number of bed nights.
