• UK residents stay at home

The number of overseas trips made by UK residents in the second quarter fell by 9% on the year, according to the Office for National Statistics.

The number of visits to the UK by overseas residents was down by 3% on the year for the quarter. Compared to the previous quarter, the number of visits by overseas residents to the UK increased by 2% to 7.4 million, with spending up by 8% to £4.3bn.
