• US hotels see rate rise

Hotels in the US reported a 2.5% increase in rate to $96.70 in November, according to STR Global.

Occupancy was up 9.0% to 53.3%, with revpar for the month rising 11.8% to finish at$51.54. Mark Lomanno, STR president, said: "The most encouraging result this month is an acceleration of room rate growth across a wide swath of the industry. A continuation of this trend bodes very well for 2011."
