• US hotels up in October

Hotels in the US saw increases across the three key performance metrics in October, according to data from STR.

Year-on-year, occupancy for the month was up by 6.9% to 61.3%, with ADR up 1.2% to $100.89 and revpar rising by 8.2% to reach $61.89. Mark Lomanno, president of STR, said: "While room rate growth remained sluggish in October, we attribute that to lower rated group business that was booked months before there was a significant demand turnaround."
