• US outlook revised upwards

Colliers PKF Hospitality Research has increased its forecast for the performance of the US hotel industry for this year upwards, from revpar growth of 4.6% to 5.6%.

R. Mark Woodworth, president of PKF-HR, said: "As we anticipated, average daily rate growth turned positive in the third quarter; however, and consistent with history, ADRs have, and will continue, to lag the recovery in occupancy." The group has also raised its 2011 forecast by 0.3 percentage points to 6.3%.
