• Visits to UK see Q3 rise

The seasonally adjusted number of visits to the UK by overseas residents rose by 1% in the third quarter to 7.4 million against the previous three months, according to the latest figures from the Office For National Statistics.

Spending by overseas residents decreased by 3% to £4.1bn. Visits abroad by UK residents rose 3% to 14.1 million, while associated spending increased by 1% to £7.9bn.
