The St Regis hotel in Washington DC has been put up for auction by lender Barclays Capital. The 125 room, 25 suite hotel is currently in the ownership of Claret Capital, an Irish private equity firm that paid $170 million for the property in 2007.
Barclays provided £135 million of loans for the purchase, according to a report in the Washington Post. The auction is scheduled for 22 October.
