• World tourism at pre-crisis levels

International tourist arrivals were back at pre-crisis peak levels in the first eight months of the year, according to the UNWTO World Tourism Barometer.

Worldwide arrivals totalled 642 million, some 40 million, or 7%, more than during the same months of 2009 and up 1% on the 2008 peak. Growth next year is expected to continue at a more moderate pace of 4%.
