• OTA growth stalls

Online bookings growth has plateaued in the UK, with customers still picking up the phone. Direct online bookings have slipped to 52% of the market, from 56% in 2012, report consultants Zolfo Cooper.

The company’s Leisure Wallet research showed the use of OTA sites was static over the year. Price remains the driving factor when selecting a hotel, followed by location. Just 11% of respondents relied on booking site recommendations, while 12% rely on word of mouth.
