• Chinese spend up

Worldwide tourist arrivals will grow between 4 and 4.5% in 2014, following a bumper 5% growth in 2013. Yet despite this governments need to do more to encourage the sector with strategies to ease travel, says the UNWTO.

China and Russia stand out as key source markets, with Chinese spending up 28% last year. Europe remained the key destination region, welcoming 29 million more visitors.
