• Orbitz books into hotels

Online travel agent Orbitz grew room night sales 15% in the fourth quarter, putting revenue up 9% for the year at USD847m. International expansion, a focus on mobile and on increasing loyalty promise to drive further growth in 2014.

Standalone hotel sales saw higher transaction volume, and higher net revenue per transaction, and represented 35% of the company’s total revenues. October saw the company launch Orbucks, its rewards currency, which allows participants to use airline credits to book hotel rooms.
