New brands for Carlson Rezidor
Carlson Rezidor has announced two new hotel brands to add to its portfolio. Radisson Red will be a contemporary, technology led chain while the Quorvus Collection will be the group’s boutique brand linking independents.
Records broken at Marriott
Marriott increased domestic revpar 5.4% in 2013, and drove fee income to more than USD1.5bn. More than USD1bn was returned to shareholders through dividends and share buybacks.
Accor focused on new direction
Accor drove revenues up 2.7% in 2013 to EUR5,536m. Earnings were up 5.3% to EUR536m, helped by a solid second half performance.
Strong finish for Host
Host Hotels increased revenues 6.5% in 2013, driven by occupancy and room rate growth. Revpar was up 5.8% for the full year, and 6.6% in the fourth quarter of the year.
Swap for down under duo
Two hotels in Australia’s Kakadu National Park are dropping IHG flags to rebrand with Accor. The Crocodile Hotel will become a Mercure and the 48 room Cooinda Lodge will move to Ibis Styles from April.
