• Bangkok visitors hit

Hotels in Bangkok are seeing occupancies of 20-25%, rather than the expected 70-80%, the result of a government imposed state of emergency. Plans by the Thai government to lift the state of emergency have been postponed after further shootings, reports Reuters.

The Thai Hotel Association is pressing for a resolution, noting the 60 day emergency has hit all sectors of the economy. If the decree is lifted, hoteliers think they can get business back to normal levels within a month.
