Hilton for Busan
Hilton has signed to open a Hilton branded hotel in Busan, South Korea’s second city. The 306 room delivered by partner Emerson Pacific, will open in 2016.
Edinburgh’s bright February
Hoteliers in the eastern UK had a strong February, with goppar up 48.3% as occupancy and rate improved. Edinburgh and Oxford hotels also had a strong month, reports Hotstats.
La Quinta ready
An initial offering of shares in the La Quinta hotel chain could raise up to USD781m when they list. The mid price brand, with more than 800 hotels in the US, Canada and Mexico, was bought by Blackstone in 2006, reports Reuters.
Hyatt heads for China
Hyatt is poised to launch its Hyatt House and Hyatt Place brands in China. The first Hyatt Place will open in May in Shenzen, and will be the first under the brand in Asia Pacific.
RBS weighs Irish sale
UK bank RBS is considering a sale of a EUR400m portfolio of Irish hotel assets. Hotels, loans and development land are likely to be sold in batches to maximise returns, reports Bloomberg.
