• Hispania bags first hotel

Spanish investment company Hispania Activos Inmobiliarios has paid EUR21.5m for the Hotel Guadalmina in Marbella, along with associated mortgage debt. It is the first investment made by the company, which launched with a March IPO and has backers including George Soros.

Hispania promises it will invest to reposition the 178 room four star hotel. The company raised an initial EUR550m to invest in hotels, apartments and offices, and will take on debt and look for off-market deals.
