Vivek Badrinath has been appointed deputy chief executive officer
Vivek will be responsible for marketing, digital solutions, distribution, and information systems, and will be a member of the group’s executive committee.
Vivek started his career in 1992 at the French Ministry of Industry. In 1996, he joined Orange, working in various technical positions with the long distance networks department before moving to be CEO of Thomson India in 2000. He returned to Orange in 2004 as technical director in charge of mobile activities, and joined the group’s executive committee in 2009. He was named executive director of Orange Business Services from April 2010 and in 2013 was appointed deputy chief executive officer in charge of Innovation, marketing and technologies.

Amadeus has promoted Rosemarie Fernández to the role of marketing director for UK and Ireland
Rosemarie will be responsible for marketing and communications strategies across all channels, leading Amadeus’s UK & Ireland executive customer engagement programme and IT solutions development strategy.
Rosemarie was previously senior manager, business planning & projects for distribution marketing at Amadeus. She has worked across the travel agency division in a range of markets including Germany, Scandinavia, Finland, Austria, Benelux, Italy and Ireland, for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining Amadeus she worked for the Institute for International Research, where she was programme director, in areas of marketing, banking and pharmaceuticals.

Sascha Wolff has been appointed chief financial officer (CFO)
Sascha is responsible for the business unit finance and administration, and manages all financial and legal affairs, as well as investor relations. He joined Design Hotels in 2000 as head of accounting and later also took over financial control.
In 2004 Sascha was promoted to director of finance and joined the executive management team. In 2009 he was promoted to vice president finance and in 2013 to VP & chief financial officer.

Arno Schwalie has been promoted chief operating officer
In his new position, Arno has responsibility for business development, global sales and brand, marketing and communications. Arno joined Design Hotels in 2006 and was responsible for strategy & development. In 2010, he was promoted to vice president business development & corporate strategy, and joined the executive management team. In 2013 he was promoted to vice president & chief commercial officer.
In 2014 Arno took over responsibility for all operational business units as chief operating officer. He has a background in strategy, marketing and sales in international companies. He has an MBA, a degree in international business administration, and real estate, hotel and asset management qualifications from Cornell University.

Wayne Buckingham has been appointed senior vice president, Asia Pacific
Wayne will be based in the Singapore office and will oversee FRHI’s Asia Pacific portfolio of 23 hotels. He will be responsible for growing its three distinctive hotel brands, working with key industry partners and owners. In addition, Wayne will continue to identify strategic opportunities for the group in key gateway cities in Asia Pacific.
Wayne brings over 20 years of senior hospitality experience across Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. He was previously the senior executive vice president for TCC Hotels Group, Thai Charoen Corporation, Bangkok. He has also held several senior executive appointments at Starwood including regional vice president for Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and managing director of the Royal Orchid Sheraton, Bangkok.

Tom Meyer has been appointed regional vice president, Asia Pacific and managing director Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford
Tom will oversee several properties in the region and will work closely with the hotels’ general managers on strategic and financial issues. As managing director of Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford, he will lead the two iconic hotels.
Tom has 30 years of hospitality experience, including more than two decades with IHG where he held several positions including area general manager for Bali, as well as director of operations and area general manager for InterContinental Dubai Festival City. Cristina Polo has been appointed director of business development
Cristina joins from the Rezidor Hotel Group in Dubai where she was director of revenue optimization Middle East, in charge of maximizing revenue growth of 30 multi-brand hotels in the region. In her new role she will be responsible for all sales and revenue generation, and will also oversee marketing.
Cristina has more than 15 years of experience with leading international brands including Hilton, Le Meridien, Forte Grand, Rezidor, Radisson Hotels, Country Inns & Suites. She has a post graduate degree, and a masters in international economics.

Abdullah Melhem has been appointed director of operations
Abdullah brings valuable experience having spent 14 years with Starwood and 15 years with Hyatt, in various senior positions. During his last posting at Starwood, he was area manager for Makkah and Madina as well as general manager of Sheraton Dammam Hotel & Towers.
Abdullah is an associate in arts – civil engineering, with a BS in management and MBA. In his new role he will be responsible for all operational issues of the HMH portfolio and will also be in charge of all pre-openings.

Peter Malone has been appointed ceo for EMEA
HVS has opened a new London office for executive search, established by a strategic partnership with Peter Malone’s Hospitality People Group. Peter has been designated CEO of HVS Executive Search for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Asia regions. He will be joined by his team of executive search specialists from Hospitality People Group to form the newly-assembled London-based HVS Executive Search team.
Peter has owned and operated hospitality-focused executive search organizations since 1995. The team he has led during the last 20 years have placed over 2,000 executives into key roles. Kaushik Vardharajan has been appointed partner and managing director, Asia Pacific
Kaushik Vardharajan, a global veteran at HVS with 13 years service, has been promoted to partner and managing director, Asia Pacific from managing director, South Asia. During his tenure, Kaushik has performed more than 1,500 market studies, feasibility analyses, and valuations in North America and South Asia, with a specific focus on large mixed-use projects and portfolio valuations.
Kaushik will oversee HVS’s growth in southeast Asia and China. He is a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and sits on its valuation board for the region.

Alison Broadhead has been appointed chief commercial officer
Alison is tasked with driving Jumeirah’s commercial strategy, building profitable growth, increasing brand awareness and value and leading an international sales and marketing team. She takes on responsibility for sales, marketing, revenue management and communications. A British national, Alison has over 25 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, of which 15 were spent in the Asia Pacific region.

Debbie Taylor has been appointed managing director north west England
Debbie joins from Kohler where she was president of hospitality and real estate. At Macdonald she will oversee the operation and sales and marketing across her region, including the relaunch of Macdonald Kilhey Court and Macdonald Craxton Wood Hotel following refurbishment.
Debbie is one of only nine women in the world to hold the prestigious accolade of Master Innholder. She stewarded Kohler during a period of growth, its portfolio including The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa in St Andrews and the American Club and Whistling Straits golf resort.

Paul Mulcahy has been named vice president distribution and revenue management
Irish-born Paul joins from the Pierre & Vacances Centreparcs Group in Paris, where he was the group distribution director responsible for direct web business, CRM and call centres. His key specialties are e-commerce, revenue management and distribution.
Paul has 25 years of experience in the travel industry including area revenue management and e-commerce positions with the IHG and Orbitz Worldwide. Paul is married with two children and fluent in French and English.

Jan Bundgaard has been promoted vice president development, Europe and Africa
Jan was formerly general manager of the Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Beirut, following a career of hotel and financial management that has seen him running and opening properties in five different countries. He was also director of finance for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Singapore.

Philippe Harb has been appointed chief operating officer (COO)
In his new role Philippe will oversee asset management, as well as implement new management contracts for properties and serviced residences under One to One brands. Pegasus Solutions has named Linda Kent senior vice president, distribution strategy
In this new role, Linda will help define and shape innovative distribution services and features to bolster Pegasus’s market leading position. She has more than 30 years’ experience, including, most recently, five years as senior vice president, electronic distribution for Wyndham Hotel Group.
Before joining Wyndham, Linda spent eight years with Starwood as vice president of electronic distribution. She has also held positions with Sabre Hotels, ITT Sheraton Corporation, Worldspan, Cohasset Travel Service and Woodside Travel Management Systems. Lindsey Ueberroth has been appointed chief executive of Preferred Hotel Group. She will continue to serve in her role as president. The move is part of a planned succession of leadership as the group enters its tenth year of private ownership by the Ueberroth family. Lindsey joined Preferred Hotel Group in 2004 and has served in several roles since then, including president from 2010.

Anthony Ross has been appointed evp for Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa
In his new capacity, Anthony will drive the company’s existing development efforts in key cities throughout the region. He brings more than 25 years of international hospitality experience, most recently as vice president of operations for Marco Polo Hotels. Prior to that, he was area general manager for Swire Hotels’ operations in Beijing.

Knut Rupprecht has been appointed director
Knut’s appointment follows the acquisition of the Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality (SSTH) in Passugg by the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) and hotelleriesuisse. He will develop detailed concepts for fully integrated, holistic syllabuses spanning classic apprenticeships, higher diploma courses up to bachelor and masters degrees in hotel and hospitality management.
Since 2006 Knut has been a senior lecturer at the EHL. During his long career in the hospitality industry he has been involved in the opening of 14 hotels in the Middle East and in Switzerland. In 2000, together with the Swiss Embassy in Abu Dabi (UAE), he founded the Swiss Business Council and became its first President. Between 2004 and 2006 he was the coordinator for the implementation of the international HR quality standard Investors in People (IIP).

Alfred Ong has been promoted managing director, Europe & India
Alfred, previously managing director strategic development, is now responsible for managing company assets and growing the hospitality business in key European and Indian markets. Alfred has been with Ascott for 15 years, rising through the management ranks to become managing director South East Asia & Australasia in 2009 before taking on the role of managing director strategic development in 2013. This position saw him overseeing Ascott’s franchising and branded residences as well as its Vietnam and India operations.

Prior to joining TripAdvisor, Lew was the director of interface solutions for Sabre Hospitality Solutions, where he was responsible for their technology partner programme, and has worked in the hospitality industry for 14 years.
Lew’s experience includes designing and developing PMS integrations, OTA direct connects, booking engines, call centre applications and content management tools. Lew has also been actively involved in industry associations including the OpenTravel Alliance, Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG) and Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association (HEDNA), working to promote industry standardisation and resolve connectivity challenges.

Geoff Ballotti has been appointed president and ceo
Geoff, formerly president and CEO of the company’s timeshare exchange and vacation rental division, succeeds departing hotel division president and CEO Eric Danziger.
Geoff joined Wyndham in 2008 to lead the exchange and rentals division. Prior to this, Geoff spent 20 years in leadership positions at Starwood Hotels, including president of the North America division.
