Adagio for Edinburgh
Aparthotel brand Adagio has signed to open a 146 unit property in Edinburgh, its second in the UK. The new build property, behind a historic facade, will open in 2017 in the New Waverley area, reports Property Week.
Italian OTA probe
Competition authorities in Italy have launched an investigation into the activities of Tripadvisor, Expedia and booking.com. It is reacting to complaints that some Tripadvisor reviews are fake, and that the site fails to clarify independent and paid for content, reports Reuters.
Airbnb reveals data
Accommodation sharing site Airbnb has agreed to comply with a request from New York authorities to provide host data. The information is required for state investigators to spot those renting out entire homes, reports Bloomberg.
Singapore duo for Accor
Accor has signed to open two new hotels in Singapore. The Novotel and Ibis will form part of a project being developed by Oxley Gem Pte in the city state, due to open in late 2016, reports Asia Travel Tips.
Sun shines for Tsogo
South African hotelier Tsogo Sun increased profits 19% last year, on sales up 9% to ZAR10.8bn. Revenue from rooms was up 16% while food and beverage sales advanced 22%, reports Bloomberg.
