• Aussie disposal planned

Australian supermarket group Woolworths is considering splitting off or selling its hotel property interests in an AUD600m deal. Woolworths owns 75% of ALH, which operates more than 300 hotels in the country, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The company, Australia’s biggest retailer, also has interests in more than 500 liquor stores and could put freehold properties into a separate listed vehicle. In the last two years, it has disposed of around AUD2bn of property assets, and launched a Reit that owns 69 shopping centres in Australia and New Zealand.
