Brussels and Frankfurt saw goppar ahead strongly in May, thanks to tight cost control. In Brussels, rate was up 12.2% while payroll fell 4.8%, pushing goppar ahead 45.5%, reports Hotstats.

Continuing strong demand in Amsterdam, with occupancy at 88.5%, allowed hoteliers to push rates up 13.2%. Istanbul had a poor month, with occupancy down 9.1%, rate slipping as a result, and goppar down 21.6%.
