Starhotels grabs London duo

 

Italian hotel chain Starhotels has acquired two central London hotels, its first move into the UK market. The 51 room Pelham and 50 room Gore were bought from property company Con Ring, advised by KPMG.

Vienna International, Austria’s largest hotel operator, has appointed Rupert Simoner its new CEO. Simoner joins from Kempinski, where he was most recently European senior vice president.

Sarajevo Courtyard

 

Marriott has signed to open a Courtyard branded hotel in Sarajevo, its second property in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The 130 room hotel will open in mid 2015, shortly following the launch of a Residence Inn in the same city.

China Lodging steady

 

China Lodging Group saw occupancy at 91% in the second quarter, with revpar increasing to RMB174 at the group’s leased hotels. Like for like performance at opened leased and manachised hotels was steady at 96% occupancy and average day rate at RMB185.

Radisson for Chongqing

 

Carlson Rezidor has signed to open a Radisson Blu resort in Chongqing, China. The 280 room hotel will open in 2018 and will be the group’s fourth hotel in the metropolis.
