• Israeli business hit
Hotel occupancy in areas of Israel has dropped as low as 30%, as tourists stay away fearing increasing hostilities in the area. Red Sea resorts such as Eilat are losing out, as well as areas closer to Israeli-Palestinian tensions, reports Bloomberg.

Jerusalem saw 2 million visitors in 2013, and was expecting similar numbers this year. Until the violence surged, Israeli destinations were looking forward to a record year, with arrivals up 17% in the first five months.
