Universities book hotels

 

UK universities with too little student accommodation are block booking hotel rooms to make up the shortfall. In Aberdeen, 280 students are staying in the local Premier Inn and Holiday Inn, reports the London Times.

New Atlantis planned

 

A USD1.4bn expansion of the Atlantis resort in Dubai has been unveiled. Investment Corporation of Dubai and Kerzner International plan a new hotel with nearly 800 rooms and 250 residences.
The Royal Atlantis resort and residences will stand 46 storeys high, offering guests spectacular views. The building will include a rooftop sky pool 90 metres above the ground.

Malmaison for London

 

The US-owned Malmaison chain is tipped to win the bidding for a new London hotel created from the old Scotland Yard police headquarters. The five star hotel, being developed by Galliard, is likely to sell for GBP200m, reports the London Telegraph.
