• Cairo recovers

Hotels in Cairo saw a strong recovery in August, with occupancy up to 62% and room rates up 5.5%. The Egyptian economy is stabilising, with business picking up and a promotional campaign encouraging tourists, report Hotstats.


Elsewhere in the Middle East, Jeddah remains the strongest market with occupancy up 6.8% to 77%. In contrast, Kuwait saw occupancy slip 1.5% to 35.6% in August, sending revpar down 7.6%, with conferencing and banqueting business also slipping lower.
