• Marriott fined for wifi block

Marriott has been fined USD600,000 for blocking wifi internet access at its hotels. The action forced guests to buy Marriott’s internet service at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, reports Bloomberg.

The ruling by the Federal Communications Commission says guests must be able to access cellular signals to use personal wifi. Marriott insists it was acting responsibly in blocking signals, protecting guest security.
