• Waldorf wobbles

US authorities are reviewing Hilton’s deal to sell the Waldorf Astoria hotel to Chinese buyer Anbang Insurance. The US government has long used parts of the hotel, and fears the new ownership might compromise security, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The US ambassador to the United Nations has leased a hotel apartment for more than 50 years, while government staff stay at the Waldorf when the UN General Assembly sits. Both arrangements are now being reconsidered.
