• Expedia growth strengthens

Strong hotel and air ticket sales growth pushed revenues up 29% at Expedia in the third quarter. Domestic and international room night sales were up 24%. 

The growth in volume helped offset a 2% decline in revenue per room night, due to loyalty programmes and coupons. Sales and marketing expenses rose 31% with a USD172m increase in online and offline marketing expenses.
