• Largest hotel on hold

Plans for the world’s largest hotel have been put on hold, following the loss of an associated casino. Aquis Group has said the 7,500 room project in Cairns will undergo a strategic review, reports Bloomberg.Aquis had bid to acquire the city’s Reef Casino Trust, but the deal has failed to secure regulatory approval. Shareholders included Accor had given approval for the AUD214m bid.
